Tax Administration switches to Rabobank - watch out for new account numbers
The Tax Administration will soon switch to a new bank: Rabobank. As a result, the Tax Authority will start using new account numbers. As of May 1, 2026, the Tax Office requests payments to be made to these new Rabobank account numbers. The correct account numbers are always clearly stated in correspondence from the Tax Office, such as on tax assessments and payment notices.
What does this mean for you?
- Are you paying by direct debit or via iDEAL | Wero?
Then you do not need to take any action. - Do you make payments manually, such as by periodic or one-time transfer?
If so, check whether you have saved Tax Office account numbers in your records or in your Internet banking address book. If you receive payment information with a new Rabobank account number, replace the old account number.

Pay attention when in doubt

Always check whether the account number appears in the official list of account numbers of the Tax and Customs Administration. If in doubt, follow the step-by-step plan at belastingdienst.nl/phishing.
